Hi, Everyone!
I'm Charlie and I am the CEO & Founder of Namu. In August 2021, I joined my veteran and volunteer friends in the harrowing efforts of trying to evacuate our Afghan Allies and young women.
It was the most heartbreaking and honorable work I’ve ever done.
During this same time, my marriage ended. Those weeks and months were shrouded with uncertainty and fear. The only way I sustained myself was through what I now call my Namu Time. I’d wake up early every morning before my three beautiful kids, make my cup of tea, and sit on my porch in front of this big beautiful tree.
The accumulation of all those paused moments in front of the tree bestowed on me the greatest gift.
Did you know NAMU is Korean for Tree?
This is where our story begins.
namu
Namu Time brought me clarity of what I want to do, and helped me find the courage to take action. I needed most to love myself in order to fulfill my deep desire to help Afghanistan. This is how Namu came to be.
I believed that if I created a great product that serves as a vehicle for people to connect with themselves, we could collectively make a meaningful change.
Namu serves delicious tea lattes, using saffron from Afghanistan, and will give a portion of its profits to organizations helping the most vulnerable in Afghanistan.
Namu will always be about both giving to yourself and helping others.
It is my hope that you sip and savor your Namu Time. Take a moment for yourself. It will give back to you, I promise.
